Daniel “Armando” Casarez of Joliet, age 72, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at the Spring Creek Nursing Home in Joliet on August 14, 2025. He was born in El Paso, TX on November 10, 1952 to his father Crecensio Casarez and his mother Engracia Casarez (née Vallejo).

Armando was born and raised in El Paso, TX with his three brothers until their teenage years, when they moved to Joliet, IL. In Joliet, Armando attended Joliet Central High School and was an active supporter and participant in multiple sports. He graduated as a member of the class of 1971, before joining the United States Navy. He served our country honorably until his discharge, when he returned home to Joliet and met his first wife Rosemary. The pair had two children together before Rosemary’s untimely passing, leaving Armando to raise his young son and daughter as a single father. In time, Armando would meet and fall in love with the woman who would become his second wife, Pamela. He and Pamela worked to blend their families together into a single family unit. They were married for thirty-five years when Armando passed away. Armando worked as a proud Union Carpenter for more than thirty years, and spent his recreational time coaching Little League baseball and working on his much-loved woodworking hobby as well as playing competitive billiards. Armando’s grandchildren were his great joy, and he loved to spend as much time as possible with them.

He was preceded in death by his parents Crecensio and Engracia; his first wife Rosemary Casarez (née Robinette); his son Daniel Casarez; and his brother Raúl Casarez.

Armando is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years Pamela Casarez (née Latham); his children Shawn (Tracy) Latham, Tasha (Jimmy) Vineyard, and Katherine (Joe) Honorow; his grandchildren Ayla, Madison, Cheryl, Maximus, Logan, Zachary, and Lillian; a great grandchild Krystal; and his siblings Anthony (Teresa) Casarez and Robert (the late Carla) Casarez. Many other extended family members, friends, and other loved ones far too numerous to name individually also survive.

In lieu of flowers Please consider a donation to the Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) Foundation a cause that is dear to his wife Pamela's heart as she is a breast cancer survivor herself.
