Robert "Rob" Heilman, age 80, of Crown Point, IN, passed away on August 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Joliet, Illinois, Rob graduated from Joliet Township High School and went on to earn his Pharmacy degree from the University of Illinois Chicago. He dedicated more than 40 years to his profession, working as a pharmacist first in Illinois and later in Indiana. Outside of work, Rob lived life with energy and generosity. He was an avid swimmer and proudly competed in the Big Shoulders Open Water Swim for over 20 years. He devoted many seasons to coaching little league baseball and, in later years, became a beloved "super fan" at his great-niece and great-nephew's Crown Point baseball, football, and volleyball games. Rob had a deep appreciation for musicals and classical music, and he had the gift of conversation. He could talk to anyone, and people were always drawn to his warmth and humor. Rob is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judy Heilman (née Sepiol); his children, Brent (Meagan) Heilman, Brad Heilman, Heather Hansen, and Kyle Heilman; grandchildren, Gwen (Jackson) Qualley, Alexandria Hansen, Adaleyn Heilman, and Drew Heilman; and his cherished great-grandson, Killian O'Brien. He is also survived by his brother, Lee Heilman, and sister-in-law Lois; sister-in-law, JoAnn LaBarge; nephews Michael Heilman and Joseph LaBarge; and nieces Beth (Jim) Ryan and Jillian (Bill) Trapp. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home & Crematory, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7667 E. 109th Ave., Crown Point, IN.
