Jesse Lee McBride, born on April 18, 1986, at 1:03 A.M. departed his earthly vessel on October 18, 2022, at 2:35 A.M.
Jesse was born in Sumter, SC, he was the son of Raymond A. McBride and Beverly Baskin McBride. Jesse was preceded in death by his dearly beloved brother, James Jared McBride on December 5, 2021. Jesse attended Sumter Christian School, Pensacola Christian College, and The Crown College, Powell, TN. Jesse worked at The Anchorage Christian Camp in Lake Waccamaw, NC as summer and seasonal staff from 2004–2015. He served in many areas during his extended time there such as operations, counseling, program, and music. He was involved in ministries such as youth camps, adult retreats, family camps, conferences, sports tournaments, basketball leagues, and community outreaches. His heart for people, his joyful, outgoing personality, and his contagious love and laugh have left an unforgettable mark on the campers and camp staff throughout his years there.
Dr. Clarence Sexton, founder and President of The Crown College, said this of Jesse, "Jesse McBride was an outstanding Christian young man. He distinguished himself with sterling Christian character. In addition to all his other assets, God gifted him with a beautiful singing voice and song-writing ability. The joy of Jesse's life was to honor the Lord with his musical talents. Jesse was the featured soloist in the 200-voice Crown College choir. He was loved and admired by everyone. We will always remember his devoted life and his example as a true friend. He courageously fought a long battle with cancer and demonstrated to everyone the victory he found in Christ."
He served as basketball coach, and basketball and soccer referee in Whiteville, NC and surrounding area. He also served as Music Director at Victory Baptist Church in Whiteville from 2014-2017.
During his last two years of life, Jesse discovered a hidden, God given talent. He was an amazing artist.
Dear Jesse, You and Jared are Dearly Loved and will be Sorely Missed.
He is survived by his parents of Sumter.
In addition to his brother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Raymond A. McBride, Sr. and Veeda Howell McBride, and maternal grandparents, James Louis Baskin, Sr. and Eleanor Joyce King Baskin.
