Jesse "Bill" Traster, age 87 of Rockwood, passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side, Monday April 8th, 2024.
Bill was born April 13th, 1936 in Lincoln Park, MI to the late Jesse and Pearl Traster. On May 25th, 1957, he married the love of his life Barbara (nee Keller). Together they raised 4 beautiful children Lynn (Tim) Richardson, Lori (Dennis) Durand, Lisa (the late Johnny) Collier, and the late William L. Traster. Proud grandfather of Nicole (Matt) Tecmire, Jessica (Nick) Efta, Micah (Kimberly) Collier, Alexander (Courtney) Traster, Ian Collier, Evan Collier, Chelsea Durand, and Paul Durand. Great grandfather of Nolan Tecmire, Lola Collier, Oliver Collier, and the late William A. Traster. Also survived by daughter in law Michele Traster.
Bill worked at the DT&I Railroad for 34 years before retiring in 1987. After retirement Bill loved to stay busy. Frequent trips to Vegas and up north, hunting, and card games helped fill his time. He was also an avid outdoorsman and Harley Davidson collector. But there was nothing he adored more than spending time with his loving family.
Visitation will take place on Friday April 12th, 2024 from 1:00pm – 8:00pm, at the Ford Chapel- Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 23620 N. Huron River Drive, Rockwood, MI 48173. On Saturday April 13th, 2024 the family will receive friends from 10:00am until time of Mass 10:30am, at St. Mary, Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish, 32477 Church St., Rockwood, MI 48173. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Brownstown Twp.
Memorial contributions may be made to Henry Ford Hospice and/or St. Mary, Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish, 32477 Church St., Rockwood, MI 48173
