It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jesse Gutierrez, who left us on March 15, 2025, at the age of 31. Jesse was born in Los Angeles, California, on February 25, 1994, the day of the Northgate earthquake, and was the fourth son among seven siblings. He was a beloved son to Susana Placeres and Javier Gutierrez, and later embraced by his bonus father, Absalon Banuelos (Jr, aka Pops), who played an integral role in shaping his life.
Jesse's siblings, Henry, Javier Jr, Darlene, Martin, Ashley, and Susie, cherished him deeply. As a child, he was affectionately known as Gansito because of his love for Gansitos. From a young age, Jesse was known for his hardworking nature, starting his first job at just 9 years old working in landscaping.
Jesse's greatest joy in life was spending time with children. He adored playing with his nephews, niece, and cousins, always putting smiles on their faces with his playful spirit and sense of humor. He had a deep love for the outdoors, enjoying fishing, biking, skating, batting cages, and recreational shooting. His passion for nature and the simple pleasures of life brought him endless joy. Jesse also had a flair for cooking and was a true foodie, especially when it came to his mom's cooking.
Jesse's bond with his Pops (Jr) was extraordinary. Jr was a steadfast figure in Jesse's life, showing him the light even during tough times. Their shared nickname for Jesse was Mongolito, a term of endearment that Jesse loved because it always made him feel like a kid again. Working with Jr in maintenance was one of Jesse's proudest experiences.
A proud graduate of East Beverly High School, Jesse also pursued his entrepreneurial dreams, founding JT Landscaping Co LLC and Legacy Painters LLC. His hard work and determination led to the fulfillment of one of his lifelong goals: owning the car of his dreams, from a Mercedes to a Colorado truck, with many other cars in between.
In May 2014, Jesse met the love of his life, Talia Valle, and they were married on the 4th of July, 2020. In a beautiful expression of his love, Jesse took Talia's last name upon their marriage. The couple welcomed a special companion into their lives, their dog Lily, a mixed breed of Pomeranian, Norwegian Elkhound, and Queensland, who became their cherished baby.
Though Jesse spent most of his life in Los Angeles, he moved to Colorado in 2021 and then to Texas in 2024, where he created unforgettable memories with his loved ones. His adventurous spirit, paired with his deep love for those around him, made every moment spent with him a treasure.
Jesse is survived by his loving wife, Talia; his siblings, Henry, Javier Jr, Darlene, Martin, Ashley, and Susie; his beloved parents, Susana and Javier; his bonus father, Jr; as well as a host of extended family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. Jesse's memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. He was a dedicated son, brother, husband, uncle, and friend. His legacy of love, laughter, and determination will forever be remembered. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Jesse will be reunited with his best friend Brian, his brother Henry, and his beloved grandfather Chuy, as he rests in peace. Until we meet again in heaven, Jesse will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
