Jesse Edward White

Jesse Edward White passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on June 13, 2023 at his home in Union City, OK. Services will be held Monday, June 26, 2023 at 11:00am at St. Luke's Church, 222 NW 15th St, Oklahoma City, OK.
He was born on February 21, 1942 to James A. and Hilma (Barron) White in El Reno, OK. He graduated from Union City High School in 1960. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science from Central State University (now University of Central Oklahoma) in Computer Science. He began working for Western Electric as a computer programmer before deciding to pursue farming full time. He later joined the United States Postal Service beginning as a substitute carrier before becoming the full-time carrier until his retirement.
He married Rhonda (Chapin) White on February 29, 1964. They had a beautiful marriage of 53 years and celebrated the 50th anniversary by renewing their vows in February of 2014.
Jesse loved being outdoors for work and play. He was the epitome of a good father and grandfather and loved spending time with all of his grandchildren. He enjoyed skiing, playing bridge and later annual trips to Alaska for fishing. He had travelling adventures with his wife and family that took him to spectacular venues and destinations both domestically and internationally, developing friendships that continue today. He acquired a taste for good cooking and regularly participated in cooking classes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and daughter, Denise Renee White. He is survived by his sons Derrel and Mary Ann of Stillwater, David and Julia of Purcell, and Dewayne and Stacey of Trophy Club, TX; grandchildren Zach and Mia White, Matt and Mary Martha White, Jacob White, Hannah White, Lauren White and Brooks White; great-grandchildren Ruthie and Margot; and sister Jayne Franks.
