Jessica Kirsten Boyd, fondly known as Tink, was born on December 9, 1955, in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. She was the fourth of seven beautiful daughters. She loved Wisconsin and remained there for the duration of her lifetime.
Jessica is survived by her mother Lisa Boyd, along with her sisters Annalisa Reis (Werner), Margaret Zynski (Robert), Elaine Humer (Jay), Amy Argires, Claire Regall (Brian), and Shelly Parra (Mark). Jessica had three nieces, LeeAnna (Jeff) Eva and Nataly (Tiernan), along with two nephews, Christopher and Bradley. Jess had six great nieces and nephews. She found a great friendship in her great nephew, Joe.
Jessica deeply loved her family. Because Jess hadn't any children of her own, her nephews and nieces were her joy. She arranged play dates with them when they were younger and was imaginative and creative when entertaining them. They couldn't get enough of their Auntie Jess. Her six sisters loved her and when they gathered together on special occasions there was laughter and exchanges of the heart. Together they created memories that lasted a lifetime. Jess was a loving and supportive daughter, aiding her mother in many ways. The days they spent together were treasured ones. We were all very grateful for Jess's generosity towards our mom.
Jess had a sparkling smile and beautiful blue eyes that drew you in. They reflected a kindness that warmed the heart. When she parted from you it was often with the words "I love you"
Jess finished high school in 1972. And went on to enjoy a self-made career. After working for an employment agency, she asked herself "Why can't I do this on my own". So Jess, with an entrepreneur's spirit, began to learn the business. Shortly after, she quit that job and in 1987 she formed her own employment agency, Boyd Hunter. She started with one desk and one telephone. The first day she opened up her business the phone 'rang off the hook'. In time she opened five branches and hired a number of employees which included some of her family members. Her business provided employment for many job seekers. Thus, the success of Boyd Hunter.
Jess was an Honored member of the Hartford Chamber of Commerce and a longtime member of the Hartford Rotary Club. She threw her heart into that work for many years.
Jess also earned her Private Pilot Certificate. She was fearless, and sought after many adventures most would not have dared. She was tenacious. When she set out to do something there was not much that could hold her back. She spent many summers with her husband Tom in their Bowers Fly Baby open cockpit airplane. Once they flew up the Grand Canyon just above the Colorado River and camped on the Upper Rim where you could see forever. It left her speechless and she fondly spoke of it often.
After 37 years at Boyd Hunter, Jess retired and began enjoying her free time with nature, her birds and animals. Jess was an avid lover of animals. She was thought of as the Dog and Bird Whisperer. Jess supported the Center for Animal Rehabilitation & Education (C.A.R.E.) and spent hours helping the sanctuary financially and otherwise. Her cockatoo Macs and her parrot, Emma provided her much entertainment. In constant demand for cuddling, Jess reciprocated, bringing them both delight. Some say that animal lovers tend to be more empathetic, affectionate. That was true of Jessica. She showed affection in many ways. When Jess hugged it went all the way around and back again.
As Jess grew older, she came to value her quiet time. Not because she didn't want to be with other people, she just enjoyed solitude. It was a way of enjoying her beautiful surroundings and connecting with the things she loved.
Jess will be remembered for her many endearing qualities. Her six sisters and mother will miss her terribly. Our only regret is we didn't have enough time to share our hearts longer. But we know one day we will see her again. Because Jess is in Gods memory too, a very safe place until the resurrection occurs when she will be reunited with all her loved ones. Oh, how we live for that day!
Memorial Contributions in Jessica's memory to the Washington County Humane Society (3650 Hwy 60, Slinger, WI 53086, www.Wchspets.org) and or the C.A.R.E foundation (720 N. Barstow St., Waukesha, WI 53186, https://centerforanimalrehab.org ) are greatly appreciated.
