Jessica Noteboom

JESSICA ELAINE NOTEBOOM, 57, of Ogallala, passed away November 25, 2025, at her home south of Ogallala.

Jessica was born August 20, 1968, in Aurora, Illinois, to James Edward Hart Sr. and Doris "Jean" Simpson. She grew up in Dacono, Colorado, and graduated from Frederick High School.

Jessica worked hard throughout her life. She held several factory jobs and worked for many years at KB Denver in Fredrick, Colorado, Arnold Engineering in Ogallala, and Thornton's convenience store and gas station in Evansville, Indiana. Jessica was known for her strong work ethic and reliability; she was always willing to pick up shifts for co-workers who needed time off. After moving back to Ogallala, she worked at Casey's for several years, where she was a kind and steady presence. Jessica later worked at ASC in Ogallala before her health declined and she had to step away from work.

Jessica married Matthew Todd Noteboom, and though the two faced many health challenges and long periods of distance, they remained connected throughout this time. Matt resides in a nursing home in Boulder, Colorado.

Jessica's heart was kind and full of love. She had a deep affection for animals and cared for many over the years-cats, dogs, ferrets, hamsters, and even a possum and raccoon that she had fed regularly. She had a special tenderness toward any creature in need. Jessica was Catholic and practiced her faith steadily and quietly; even as her health declined, she continued doing daily devotionals when she was able.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Survivors include her husband, Matt Noteboom of Boulder, Colorado; her brother, Edward James Hart Jr. of Big Lake, Minnesota; stepfather, Randy (Stephanie) Stansbery of Ogallala; and her niece, Brittany; her favorite Aunts, Mae Ennis and Ella Tucker of Southern, Illinois; along with other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Jessica will be held Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Prairie Hills Funeral Home Chapel.

A memorial has been established in Jessica's memory for later designation. Condolences may be shared at prairiehillsfuneralhome.com.
