Jesse Jade James Jackson, Jr.
June 21, 1953 - January 16, 2025
Jesse Jade James Jackson, Jr. was born on June 21, 1953, in Leland, Mississippi, to the late Mary Willis and Louis Jackson. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and friend, who touched the lives of many with his warmth, kindness, and spirit.
Jesse attended Howland Elementary and Hess Upper Grade School. After completing his education, he began working for the Turner Brothers Remodeling Company, where he dedicated many years of his life before retiring. In his leisure time, Jesse had a passion for cooking, reading the Bible, and listening to his favorite music-Sam Cooke, gospel, and blues. He was also a talented songwriter, having written numerous gospel songs. A fan of cowboy movies, Jesse enjoyed unwinding with a good film.
On June 21, 2021, Jesse married Rose Marie Lumpkin, and their union brought seven wonderful children into his life: Larena, Doris, Diane, Ellis Jr., Cornell, Andreus, and Antreaus, and two loving sisters in Chicago, Il. Jesse also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and many close friends, including his special friend, Diane Ramsey, who provided loving care and companionship until his passing.
Jesse was preceded in death by his siblings: Robert, Willie, John Willis, Sam, Corinne, Ruby, Jimmie, John, Tommie, Joe, and Carl, as well as two sisters in Chicago, IL. He passed away on January 16, 2025, after a life well-lived, and was called home by God to rest from his labors and receive his reward.
The memory of Jesse's life will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.
