Scott-Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM at Acts of Love Church 104 Blue Boy Drive Scott, LA 70583 on Sunday, June 30, 2024 honoring the life of Jessie Lee Spann, Jr., 62, who passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024.
He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Pamela Benjamin Spann; stepchildren, Blair Staten and Aaron Staten; mother-in-law, Verna Benjamin; godchild, Royalty Lee; and siblings, Moses Spann, Jr., Cassandra Evette Dotson (Jimmie), Donna Durr-Graves (Ronald), and Moses Dewayne Durr.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Lee Spann, Sr. (Durr); mother, Rose Mary Thompson Spann-Durr; paternal grandparents, President and Rebecca Spann; and maternal grandparents, Abraham and Addie Thompson.
Jessie truly loved the Lord. His final days were days of conversations with God. He expressed that the Lord always had a bird singing to him in the mornings. He loved being in church and singing.
He would always say that Pam was the "love of his life". He loved people, especially the less fortunate. He and Pam would often go out and give clothes to the homeless and share Jesus with them.
Everyone that knew Jessie knew he loved wrestling and enjoyed watching it on TV. This was one of his greatest past times.
If Jessie could leave any last words they would be "get a relationship with Jesus, because you will need him".
The family would like to say a special thanks to Pastor Abram and First Lady Yolande Freeman, the Acts of Love Church, Ms. Leona Arceneaux, A Freeman Driving School Employees and Louisiana Funeral Services and Crematory for all that they have done for Jessie and his family.
