Jesus Balleza, 70, entered into eternal rest on November 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Jesus was a man whose reliability and steady presence shaped the lives of all who knew him. Whether for a friend, a family member, or even a passing acquaintance, he was always the one people could count on. He served as the anchor of his family level-headed, capable, and unwavering always ready to fix whatever problems were placed before him. A straightforward and honest man, he never hesitated to offer his unbiased perspective.

Jesus dedicated 35 years of honorable service to the San Benito Fire Department, where he proudly retired as Captain. His courage, discipline, and commitment to protecting others reflected the same strength and integrity he brought to his family life. He served his community with humility and heart, earning the respect and gratitude of those who worked alongside him and those he helped throughout his career.

Jesus carried an independent spirit marked by determination and a strong will; qualities he maintained throughout his life and up until his peaceful rest with God. His children Ester, Jesus, Valentin, and Angelica will carry forward the lessons he taught, the stories he shared, the memories he gifted them, and the stubborn strength that defined him. His absence leaves a space that can never be filled or forgotten.

Jesus is survived by his beloved wife of more than 45 years, Angela M. Balleza of Harlingen; his four children: Ester Balleza of Harlingen, Jesus Balleza Jr. (Melinda) of Harlingen, Valentin Balleza of Harlingen, and Angelica Ross (John) of Austin; and his cherished grandchildren: Joshua Ryan Balleza, Madeline Rae Balleza, and Carolina Emily Ross. He is also survived by his siblings, Fernando Balleza (Sandra) of San Antonio and Herminia Sanchez (Francisco) of Rio Hondo.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a rosary at 6:00 PM at the Rudy Garza Chapel of Peace in Harlingen, Texas. The funeral will take place on Monday, November 24, 2025, departing the funeral home at 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM funeral service at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, with Deacon Benigno Palacios officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland Memorial Park Cemetery in Harlingen, with military honors presented under the auspices of the American Legion of Brownsville Veterans Foreign War Post 2035.

Pallbearers will be Jesus Balleza Jr., Valentin Balleza, John William Ross, Joshua Ryan Balleza, Fernando Balleza, and Francisco Sanchez.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rudy Garza Funeral Home in Harlingen, Texas.
