Pepe Gallegos was born in Canutillo, TX to Tomasa Chavez Gallegos and Jesus Jose Gallegos on April 30, 1956. He graduated from Gadsden High School in Anthony, NM where he was a member of the 1974 state champion golf team. He married Cecilia Holguin on November 1, 1976 in Las Cruces, NM.
Pepe worked tirelessly at Dos Lagos Golf Club, with most of his 40+ years at "The DOS" as co-Club Professional. He taught golf lessons including UTEP golf class, adult classes, and summer junior golf lessons.
Pepe maintained an immaculate garden. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends on fishing and hiking trips. He loved them tremendously and hosted them regularly for delicious cookouts.
He is preceded in death by his parents Tomasa and Jesus Jose.
He is survived by: His wife Cecilia. Their three sons and their spouse/partner Jesus Jose III and Alejandra, Francisco and Brock, and Tomas. Their grandchildren Alexia, Stephanie, Athena, and Miranda. His brothers and sisters Enrique Gallegos, Rosa Jimenez, Abelardo Gallegos, and Graciela Valdespino.
Pallbearers will be Abelardo Gallegos Jr., Benjamin Jimenez, Enrique Gallegos Jr., Jesus Valdespino, Alonzo Medina, and Adam Medina. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Briseño and Angel Holguin.
The Gallegos family invites Pepe's family and friends for his memorial services. A viewing, rosary, and funeral mass will be held at 10:00am, 10:15am, and 11:00am, respectively, on May 24, 2022 at St. John Paul II Parish 6100 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, NM. The burial will follow the mass at Memory Gardens of the Valley in 4900 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, NM. A reception will follow the burial at Anthony Country Club 2100 W Ohara Rd, Anthony, NM 88021.

Condolences to all the Gallegos family. Pepe was an old high school Golf teammate .He was so dedicated to the sport he cherished since he was a youngster. Had the pleasure to team up a couple of times and he always brought out the best in me.He was good for the sport and for the youngsters that learned how to play at the Dos ! RIP my friend.By now you have played your first round of . Golf in Heaven. God Bless you untill we meet again.
