FORT WORTH - Jesus Alberto Lopez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the age of 60.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mount Olivet Funeral Home in the Breyley Suite. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment will take place immediately following the funeral at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Jesus was born in Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico on June 8, 1964, to the late Jesus Lopez and Teresa Lopez, where he spent his early years before transitioning to Texas. Jesus grew up with strong values of faith, hard work and dedication to family. He attended Amon Carter Riverside High School where he graduated in 1983. Jesus was an outstanding classmate and participated in football.
He married Edith Sanders in 1984. To this union, Jesus was blessed with four biological children, and blessed to open their home to adopt. He would help anyone who was in need and looked for nothing in return, he loved just how God intended for him to love, and he taught his family about the love and faith of God. He was a wonderful grandfather who created a haven to his grandkids and numerous other loved ones.
Jesus was a man of strong work ethic. He worked as a truck driver for many years. He was also a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan, and spent many Sunday afternoons sitting in his chair enjoying a game.
Jesus was preceded in death by his father and mother, Jesus and Teresa Lopez.
He will be missed and is survived by his loving family, including his wife of 40 years, Edith Lopez; children, Jonni Lopez, Jeovana Lopez, Jessica Arellano (husband, Gulfredy Arellano), Jesus Lopez Jr (wife, Hazel Lopez), and J'Kelly Lopez; five grandchildren, Gulfredy Arellano Jr., Autumn Lopez, Gianni Arellano, Ariana Lopez and J'Kelly Lopez Jr.; one brother; four sisters; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Psalm
119: 71-76
It was good for me to be afflicted
so that I might learn your decrees.
The law from your mouth is more precious to me
than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.
Your hands made me and formed me;
give me understanding to learn your commands.
May those who fear you rejoice when they see me,
for I have put my hope in your word.
I know, Lord, that your laws are righteous,
and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.
May your unfailing love be my comfort,
according to your promise to your servant.
