Jewel Naramore Hall, age 91, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 30, 2025, at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside services and burial will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Bro. Billy Joy and Bro. Danny Glover will be officiating.
Born and raised in Tuscaloosa County, Jewel grew up as a sharecropper, learning the value of hard work from a young age. She graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School and went on to enjoy a 34-year career at South Central Bell, retiring in 1986.
Jewel was a faithful servant of God, a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and the heart of her family. She loved tending her flowers, reading her Bible, and attending church with her beloved Sunday school class. She was the perfect example of a Christian, always putting others before herself and living each day with kindness, humility, and unwavering faith.
She was affectionately known as Maw Maw by all who knew her. She had a way of making everyone in her presence feel loved and special. She truly was a Jewel!
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ottis Hall; parents, M.L. and Elizabeth Naramore; brother, Joe Thomas Naramore; special aunts, Irene Hamlin and Josephine Roberts; and special uncle, Bill Naramore.
Jewel is survived by her son, Jimmy Hall (Tricia); stepson, Bill Hall (Rosalyn); grandchildren, Leah Farley (Brad), Rusty Hall (Brandi), Cody Hall (Shelby), Kim Lee (Tim), and Jennifer Frazer (Tucker); great grandchildren, Jameson, Ella, and Miller Farley, Mary Russell and Mack Hall, Lilah Hall, Hannah Pearson (Brett), and Henry, Sam, and Hall Frazer; great great grandchild, Wyatt Pearson; special caregiver, Gay Barton; and a host of special cousins and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brad Farley, Rusty Hall, Cody Hall, Jameson Farley, Mack Hall, Stanley Roberts Jr., and Billy Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers will be Valley View Baptist Church, Joy Bible Study Class, the neighbors of Weatherby subdivision, Dr. Phil Hemstreet, Dr. Rudy Harrison, Amy Wyatt, CRNP, Danny Glover, Tim Harris, and Hospice of West Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of West Alabama or Valley View Baptist Church.
Jewel's life was at testament to God's grace and love. Her family finds comfort in knowing she has been joyfully welcomed into Heaven, reunited with loved ones, and greeted with the words, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
