Jewell Dean Crank Harvey, age 72, passed away gently on December 3, 2025.
Jewell was born in the warmth of summer on July 3, 1953. She was the cherished daughter of the late Virgil and Mildred Castle Crank. Jewell was a devoted housewife, loving mother, and proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She found her greatest joy in taking care of her family. Jewell was a wonderful cook whose dishes were made with care and served with a generous heart. Her home was a place of comfort, and she enjoyed doing everyday chores. In her younger days her favorite past time was caring for her grandbabies while their parents were working. Jewel was always ready to lend a helping hand to her children She was a talker and those who knew her well will remember the hours spent talking on the phone, sharing stories, laughter, and love.
Jewell was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was loved beyond measure and will be missed for many moons to come. Her legacy of love will continue to grow in the hearts of those she left behind.
Jewell leaves behind her children Tammy (Don Rice) Harvey of Scottown, OH, and Michael Stephen (Nicole) Harvey II of Ironton, OH, grandchildren, Bethany (James) Suttles, Andrew (Jillian) Runyon, Michael Stephen Harvey III, Matthew (Jaclyn), and Aubrey Harvey, five precious great-grandchildren, Jacelynn, Jaxton, Adaline, Ellie, and Wesley, and one sister Anna Margaret( Steve)Groves of Boyd County, KY.
In addition to her parents, Jewell is preceded in death by her life-long companion Michael Stephen Harvey, two brothers, Ronnie Jay Hopkins and John William Crank, and sisters Lena Gail Moore, Kathy Lynn Gearheart, Elanor Hopkins Deskins, and Virgie Crank.
A Funeral to honor the life of Jewell will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, beginning at 1:00pm at Kilgore& Collier Funeral Home, located at 2702 Panola Street, Catlettsburg, KY, 41129. Visitation for friends and family will take place prior to the service from 11am to 1pm. Jewell will be laid to rest at Catlettsburg Cemetery following the service.
