Frances Marlene Schaffner Baker, age 90, of Catlettsburg, KY, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on November 22, 2025.
Marlene was born just as the weather was starting to turn cold on, November 19, 1935. She was the blessing of the late William Frederick and Ruth Webb Schaffner. Marlene attended school and grew up in Boyd County. She made raising her children her full time job. She always put them first before herself and made sure to fill the home with love, support, and the smell of a homecooked meal. Marlene kept her hands busy most of the time sewing special things her family will cherish for many generations to come.
Marlene was of the Pentecostal faith and that faith was unwavering. She loved the Lord and spent many hours pouring over his words in her Bible. It brought her peace and made her feel closer to God.
Marlene leaves behind many who will mourn her passing and yet celebrate her life. She was loved by her ever growing family and will be missed beyond measure.
She leaves behind her children, Roberta Isaccs and her husband Danny of Olive Hill, KY, Donna Rae Skinner and her husband John Skinner of Ashland, KY, Virginia Barker of Ashland, KY, Paula Davis of Catlettsburg, KY, Loretta Ramey and her husband John Ramey of Catlettsburg, KY, and a very special daughter Cyndi Loveridge of Piermont, OH, a host of precious grandchildren Timothy Yates, Christina Craig, Tiffany Davis, Curtis Ramey, his wife Aurora, John Dale Skinner, his wife Sara, and Johnny Ramey, and one sister Janet Schaffner of Greenup, KY. Also surviving is a special sister Edna Tucker of Geneva, OH, and host of extended family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Marlene is enjoying a Heavenly Reunion with one daughter Diana Yates, two brothers Billy Schaffner and his wife Faye, Phil Schaffner and his wife Glenna.
A Visitation will be held at Kilgore & Collier Funeral Home located at 2702 Panola Street, Catlettsburg, KY, on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 10am until 11:45, Marlene will be laid to rest following the visitation at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens where a graveside service will begin at 12:00pm. John Ramey, Johnny Ramey, Curtis Ramey, John Dale Skinner, Chuck Schaffner, Noah Anderson, and Les Blanton will serve as casket bearers.
