Mrs. Jewell (Parrigin) Pyles, of Albany, Kentucky, passed away, Monday, August 12, 2024 at the Medical Center at Albany, Kentucky, having attained the age of 71 years, 9 months, and 12 days. She was born in Albany, Kentucky on Saturday, November, 1, 1952, the daughter of Clifton Lee and Eva Christine (Owens) Parrigin. She was of the Baptist faith, a member of Gospel Independent Baptist Church, and co-founded Gospel Christian Academy where she continued to work with and influence the students. She played piano and taught Sunday School at Gospel Independent Baptist church for over 50 years. She was the first employee for Campbell-New Funeral Home. In addition to her grandparents she is preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Melinda Jewell Pyles.
She is survived by her husband, Lonnie Pyles, whom she wed Saturday, March 16,1974, and brother, Rural (& Janice) Parrigin both of Albany, Kentucky.
The funeral service was conducted on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. C.S.T. at the Gospel Independent Baptist Church in Albany, Kentucky with Bro. Marcus Williams officiating. The burial was in Memorial Hill Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky. Casket bearers were Gaylon Copas, Teddy Hicks, Matthew Burgess, Ricky Brown, Cornel Bulubenchi, Gary Little, Robert Hicks, Johnny Shelton, and Jaime McCutchen. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Gospel Christian Academy.
