Emma Jill Russell Davis, 85, of West Haven, Utah passed away May 5, 2025 from cancer. Jill was born September 12, 1939 to Emma Eva Dahl and Elmer Ross Russell in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from West High in 1957 and moved to California with a friend. She met Robert Davis there and they married November 11, 1960 in the Los Angeles Temple. They had 64 years together as loving parents of four children.
Jill's family was the joy of her life and she supported them in everything they did. She made sloppy joes to sell at many swim meets, chaperoned band trips, attended countless concerts, plays, recitals, programs, and sporting events. She retired from the Business Office at McKay-Dee Hospital, where she made many great friends. She helped Bob with his poetry for decades and attended poetry society events with him.
Jill served faithfully as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints throughout her life. She served in many many callings: Relief Society President, Young Women President, Homemaking Leader, teacher, and more. One of her favorite callings with Bob was serving in the Special Needs Mutual for many years. Jill and Bob served in the England London Mission from 2003-2004, an experience they referred to often and made lifelong friends. She was truly an example of loving service. Up until a few weeks ago, Bob and Jill were serving at the Lotus Park Memory Care Branch in West Haven.
Jill and Bob loved to do things together, including going on hospice the same day. Bob passed away April 1, 2025. Jill is survived by her children Krista Williams (Blake), Karen Barnes (Keith), Maya Kimberly Collinwood (Corrie Elston), and Steven Robert Davis (Kathryn) with 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. Everyone loved her kindness and sense of humor with a little bit of sass. Her personal history ends with the love she has for her family and her favorite saying, "See you later, alligator!"
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 13th from 6-8 pm at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th St, in Ogden.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 pm on Wednesday, May 14th with a brief viewing from 11:00 to 11:45 am. at the LDS church at 3271 West 2550 South in West Haven.
