Jill Nolden, 54, of Lake County, passed away peacefully after a lifelong battle with medical challenges. Born to Daryl and Mary Ann, Jill was a truly gifted athlete. A four-year standout as a center on the varsity basketball team at Libertyville High School, she also excelled at volleyball, bowling, and loved playing in her billiards league.
She went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University–Carbondale and a master's in education from Portland State University. Jill dedicated her life to helping others, working for Lutheran Social Services in Chicago and teaching special education in Oregon until her health no longer allowed.
Known for her kind spirit and strong will, Jill faced every challenge with courage, becoming a source of strength and inspiration to everyone around her. She will be dearly missed by her children, Simone and Nicole; her parents, Daryl and Mary Ann; her brothers, Darin (Linda) and Jay (Jennifer); and her many nieces, nephews, and her beloved dog, Penelope.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations would be greatly appreciated to either The Special Olympics https://www.specialolympics.org/ or The Trevor Project https://www.thetrevorproject.org/.
Arrangements are being handled by McMurrough Funeral Chapel (847) 362-2626. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Jill, please visit our Tree Store.
