Funeral services for Mr. Jim Bradford Florey, 79, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 11, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
Mr. Florey was a retired MSgt with the United States Marine Corps. He served active duty from 1962-1983, serving three tours in Vietnam. MSgt Florey was an inactive Reserve from 1983-1992 and he also served as a recruiter for two years. After retiring from the military, he worked for the U.S. Postal service as a carrier for over twenty years. Mr. Florey was also a proud member of the American Legion. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren who he dearly loved. Mr. Florey was preceded in death by his father, Marion Florey; mother, Rosa Lee Florey; sister, Frances Florey; grandson, Tony Florey; and granddaughter, Jordan Bass.
Survivors include his wife, Satoko Florey; son, Jim Florey, Jr. and his child, Jacob Florey; son, Chris Florey and girlfriend, Heather Yelton and his children, Tyer Florey and Zander Florey; son, William Bell and Fiancé Fayline Bass and his child, Kat Bell; daughter, Katherine Bell and her child, Tristan Griggs; and two great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the American Legion.
