Pauline Crenshaw Paulus of Monroe, Louisiana, peacefully embraced eternity in the presence of her Lord on September 25, 2025, at the age of 87, surrounded by her family and joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Richard. Her radiant warmth, deep faith, and joyful spirit left lasting impressions on all who knew her.

Born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana, Pauline's life was deeply rooted in her community. She graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1956. She continued her education at the University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM), where she spent four fulfilling years as a student, coming just shy of earning her bachelor's degree in education. Her love for learning and children inspired her to work as a substitute teacher, where she encouraged and nurtured countless young hearts.

Pauline embodied devotion in every aspect of her career. She served as an auxiliary at Saint Francis Medical Center and North Monroe Hospital, providing compassion and comfort to both patients and staff. Her faithful service at North Monroe Baptist Church had a profound impact on the lives of many, and she was a cherished member of the church choir for several decades. Her beautiful voice uplifted worshippers and celebrants alike, and she often sang at weddings and other life celebrations. She also enjoyed hosting and participating in her monthly Po-Ke-No games, where she frequently bragged about winning the Booby Prize. Additionally, she enjoyed attending other social events with family and friends, cooking, bird-watching, and gardening. She also loved being a French Bulldog Mom to Jake.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul G. and Lillie Mae Kitchens Crenshaw; her husband of 64 years, Richard B. Paulus; and her five siblings: brothers Ray, Winfred, and Henson Crenshaw, and sisters Mary Ellen Self and Beverly Corrent. She is survived by her devoted children: Janet Paulus of Niceville, FL; Sammy Paulus of Allen, TX; and Greg Paulus of Miami Beach, FL, as well as her grandson, Caleb Young of The Woodlands, TX, and her close niece, Wendy George, of Columbia, LA. Pauline was deeply adored and cherished by her children, grandson, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Her children all agree that the words that best describe their mom are beautiful, sweet, kind, caring, and gentle. Her warmth and compassion touched everyone she met, leaving a legacy of love and goodness. As she now sings with the heavenly choir, her gentle spirit continues to guide and inspire us all to live kindly, love deeply, and rejoice in every moment. She will be remembered as “one of the kindest, sweetest souls” and dearly missed.

Pallbearers will be Scott McMickle, Don Pace, Randy Crenshaw, Mark Corrent, Keith Sivils, and Dennis Crenshaw. Honorary pallbearers include Neil Crenshaw, Jimmi White, Byron Kitchen, and Pat Brown.

Funeral services for Mrs. Paulus will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, September 29, 2025, at North Monroe Baptist Church, with Dr. Bill Dye and Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd., Monroe. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until service time at the church.
