Obituary of Jim Irvin
James "Jim" Allen Irvin, age 69, of West Branch, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at his home.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at the Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Moose Lodge in Iowa City.
Born on November 27, 1955 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Jim was the son of Roger and Eva (Neider) Irvin. He graduated from Solon High School in 1974.
Jim was united in marriage to Janice Duttweiler on December 17, 1977 at the United Methodist Church in Wellman. He worked at Sheller Globe, later IAC, for 45 years, retiring in September of 2021. Jim was a member and former officer of the Loyal Order of the Moose #1096.
Jim's family includes his wife, Janice of West Branch; sons, Jason (Christine) Irvin of Iowa City, and Jared Irvin of Iowa City; a daughter, Jamie (Joseph) Bevans of Atalissa; grandchildren: Erik Jones, Coy Irvin, Logan Hatfield, Logan Brockert, and Wyatt Brockert; a great-grandson, Dean Brockert; his mother-in-law, Karen Duttweiler; a sister, Kathy (George) Murphy; and a brother, Bill (Trish) Irvin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father-in-law, Wm. Dale Duttweiler.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Family of James Irvin.
