Mr. Jim Jordan

Mr. James (Jim) Dwight Jordan, 65, of Henderson, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024. Born on March 11, 1959, in Andrews, Texas, he was the middle son of M.H. (Slim) Jordan and Naomi Jordan. Jim grew up alongside his two brothers, Mike and Bill, and together they set West Texas ablaze with their spirited football games and playful shenanigans.
A talented athlete, Jim played college football at Ranger College before embarking on a successful career with Sun Oil Company in Tyler, Texas. There, he met the love of his life, Becky Velvin, whom he married and cherished for 40 wonderful years. He later joined her family's business, serving as Vice President of Velvin Oil Company.
Jim was a devoted father to his three sons: Jared, Jeremy, and Dusty, who brought immense joy to his life alongside their spouses, Rachel, Leigh, and Allison. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Brooklyn, Peyton, Miles, Sophia, Maverick, Jake, and Megan, who were the lights of his life.
A lover of hunting and golfing, Jim was known for his infectious laughter and was truly the life of every gathering. As a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, he cherished traveling to NFL stadiums and sharing his passion for the game with friends and family.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Becky, his cherished sons and their families, his mother, Naomi, and his brothers and their families. He was preceded in death by his father, M.H. Slim Jordan.
A beacon of optimism and friendship, Jim touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have crossed his path.
In his memory, let us celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
A celebration of Mr. Jim Jordan's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at First Baptist Church with Dr. David Higgs and Paul Sadler officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the mall area of the church. A private, family burial will be held under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Stanfield, Burl Richards, Eddie Bumgardner, Greg Gibson, Chris Dunn, and Paul Sadler. Honorary pallbearers will Mike Free, Jeff Copeland, Neal Gray, Gary Lary, Keith Childress, and Donnie Berger.
