Jimmy Ree "Jim" Roberts, 81, of Maysville, passed away Monday, April 21, 2025, at the Hospice of Hope Care Center.

Born in Rowan County on October 5, 1943, Jim was a son of the late Elmo Roberts and the late Beulah Fogleman Roberts Little.

Jim was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked as a truck driver and for many years worked for Hord Trucking. Jim's passion was farming and his cattle, his cattle were like part of his family. He spent endless hours caring for them, cutting and baling hay and doctoring when he could. Jim always had a smile on his face and a joke to tell. He also loved his westerns and knew so many country and bluegrass musicians. His life was filled with his knowledge of so many life experiences that it was always so nice to just sit with him and reminisce. Jim will be so missed by all his family and many friends.

Jim is survived by his wife of 23 years, Elaine Carol Dorothy Feds Roberts; his two stepdaughters, Tina (James) Roberts-Keyes of Manchester, Ohio and Donna (Scott) Cleaver of Cape Coral, Fla; his three grandchildren, Reeanna (Nick) Roberts, Mikayla Keyes, Jamie (Seth) Blankenship; his four great grandchildren, Chase Blankenship, Damon Blankenship, Bella Huff, and Bennett Logan. Jim is also survived by his three sisters, Patsy (Larry) Stacy, Wilma (Dale) Clary, and Brenda Hilterbrand; three of his brothers, Larry Roberts, Kenny (Martha) Roberts, and Elmo Nicholas Roberts; his sister-in-law, Barb Roberts; along with his many nieces, nephews, and special friends, Wally Lucas, Kenny Sapp, Jr., and Kyle Sapp.

In addition to his mother Beulah and his father Elmo, Jimmy was preceded in death by his two daughters, Rita Roberts and Lisa Roberts Beckett McGlothin; two of his brothers, Joe Roberts and Claude Roberts. Jim was also preceded by two of his sisters-in-law, Shirley Roberts and Barbie Roberts; his brother-in-law, Sherley Taylor; and his son-in-law, James "Jim" McGlothin.

The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2025, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Dale Clary and Michael Clary officiating.

Jim will be laid to rest in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation will be 11:30 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Friday, at Boone-Nickell located at 150 West Water Street, Flemingsburg, KY. 41041.
