Jim P. Swearingen, of Sibley, Missouri, passed away on August 21, 2025, at KC Hospice House, at the age of 73.

He was born on August 18, 1952, to Paul and Margaret Swearingen. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army and later enjoyed a long career with Armco Steel Company before his retirement.

A man of many interests, Jim loved golfing, cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals, and sharing meals at Red Lobster. His easygoing nature and loyalty left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Margaret Swearingen; his brother, Wayne Swearingen; and other beloved family members.

He is survived by his sister, Penny Campbell (Tim); nephews, John Campbell (Heather) and Todd Campbell (Leah); great-nephews, Colton Campbell (Hailey) and Cameron Campbell; great-niece, Savannah Campbell; sister-in-law, Darlene Swearingen; and lifelong friends, Larry "Fred" Stucker and Junior Young. His family and friends will deeply miss his presence, humor, and love.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date, with burial at Oakland Cemetery in Independence, Missouri.
