Jim (James) Yungen, age 71, of Orrville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
Jim was born on November 12, 1953, in Orrville, Ohio, to the late Volney "V.L." and Rosemary (Graber) Yungen. He graduated from Orrville High School in 1972 and went on to build a life rooted in hard work, family, and deep community ties. On November 13, 2004, he married Wendy Murphy in Orrville, and they shared over two decades of love and companionship together.
For more than 40 years, Jim devoted himself to the concrete trade. He began his career working alongside his cousin Jim, and later became the proud owner and operator of Yungen Construction. Jim was known for pouring more than just concrete-he poured care, pride, and integrity into every project. His reputation for craftsmanship and dependability lives on in the work he left behind.
A true man of grit and heart, Jim was someone you could always count on. He enjoyed tinkering with projects-both on and off the clock-and cherished the simple pleasures of life: time with friends, laughter with family, and the satisfaction of a job well done. His quiet generosity and unshakable work ethic were hallmarks of his character.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Wendy; sons, Cohl Yungen and Kevin Calame; grandson, Beau Calame; siblings, John (Becki) Yungen, Jan (Mark) Fowkes, Judy (Dave) Browne, and Jeffrey Yungen; sister-in-law, Linda Yungen; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joel Yungen; and his infant brother, David Yungen.
In keeping with Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor his memory and the enduring impact he had on those fortunate enough to know him.

So sorry to hear about Jim. I met him team penning in Wooster in the 90´s. Instantly formed a friendship being a contractor and him a concrete guy. He did my concrete work from then on. Great guy,one of a kind.He will surely be missed by anyone that knew him.R.I.P. old friend.
