Jimmy Lou Anderson, 78, of Mooresville, passed away Thursday, January 2nd, 2025. He was born November 6th, 1946 in Martinsville to his parents Charles Melvern and Beulahmae Jane (Doty) Anderson. He married Sherry Ann (Simpson) Anderson on July 8th, 1967.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Sherry Ann Anderson of Mooresville; three sons: Steven Troy Anderson of Mooresville, William Curtis Anderson of Mooresville, and Darryl Kent Anderson of Mooresville; four grandchildren: Heather, Brandon, Ashley, and Kylea; six great-grandchildren: Adrianna, Josiah, Noah, Everly, Jonathan, and Grady; one sister; and three brothers. Jimmy is preceded in death by both of his parents; one great-grandson, Jenning; one brother, two sisters; two sister-in-laws; and one brother-in-law.
Jimmy, who graduated from Center Grove High School in 1965, dedicated over 40 years to being a high school sports official, passionately supporting young athletes in baseball, softball, basketball, and volleyball. His role as a street sweeper driver for Enviro Sweep for more than five years showed his commitment to serving his community before he retired in 2011. A devoted sports fan, he found joy in watching the Cincinnati Reds and often took comfort in the beauty of the ocean and the animals outside his window. Known for his strength as a leader and the heart of the family, Jimmy's deep love for his family reflects the warmth and connection that truly enriched the lives of those who knew him. His presence will be fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.
