Jimmy Wray Conine was born May 21, 1936, in Dallas, Texas to parents Wendell and Cleo Teenor Conine along with 3 older brothers, Vergil, Ed, and David. He and his family lived at the Texaco community often referred to as Cement City or Behind the Gates and other areas of West Dallas until his parents and Texaco moved his dad to New Jersey when Jim was 14. Jim LOVED New Jersey and in later years reminisced fondly and often about those years of his life. He returned to Dallas at the age of 17 in time to graduate in December 1954 from Crozier Tech High School. Talk about some good times! He jumped right back into his Dallas life and friends and remained in touch with these special people until the end, attending annual class reunions for the entire school. Those weekends have been one of the highlights of his life. Jim moved to Tyler at the age of 19, where he met the love of his life, Jonnie Fae, while attending Tyler Junior College. They married in 1955 and were blessed with four children. Jim built a long and dedicated career with GE/Trane, retiring in 1997. Jim is preceded in death by the light of his life, Jonnie Fae Conine. He is survived by his children, Brenda Conine of Dallas, Brian Conine of Tyler, Beverly Conine Wheeler of Flint, Beth Ann Conine Mauceli (husband Paul) of Garland; and grandchildren, Michelle Conine-McLeod, Drew Whittenberg (wife Meagan), Caleb Conine (wife Brittney), Cole Wheeler (wife Lara), Blake Wheeler (wife Mallory), Bellamy Mauceli and Trent Wheeler (husband Alan); as well as 5 great-grandchildren;1 great-great-grandchild, many grandpets and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 18, 2025, at 1:00pm, with visitation immediately following at Stewart Family Funeral Home in Tyler. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart to Heart Hospice Foundation (www.htohhfoundation.org) in Jim's honor.

Jim Conine hired me for my first salaried job in Materials at Trane in 1981. He was without a doubt one of the greatest managers I worked with till his retirement. I was able to tell him that at his retirement party.
