Jimmy Cromer, a fun-loving, bighearted, longtime resident of College Grove, TN died December 24, 2023 in his easy chair, shortly before family members arrived to attend a Christmas Eve service with him. He was 69.
Jimmy had many friends. He cut up daily with breakfast and lunch groups and constantly received and made calls and texts on the phone he carried in his shirt pocket. Although he continued to run a business, he often remarked that each day “I start out slow then taper off.”
A notorious prankster, he was also a generous soul. He was a loyal member of College Grove Methodist Church, a proud father, and a doting grandfather.
James Wallace Cromer was born May 11, 1954, to Buddy and Mary Tom Cromer. He worked as a salesman for Nabisco for 27 years and eventually started his own business, Fastrack Printing and Promos.
He is preceded in death by grandson, Marc Rice. Jimmy is survived by his three loving sons, Keith (Gerrie) Cromer, Darrell (Sarah) Cromer and John (Brandy) Cromer; brothers, Ed (Connie) Cromer and Billy Cromer; grandchildren, Meagan, Jennifer, Chase, Ashton, Rylan, Hannah, Mason and Savanna.
Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Friday, December 29, 2023 at Lawrence Funeral Home, Pam Wells to officiate. Visitation will be held 4-8:00PM Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday. Interment will follow at College Grove Cemetery. Wayne Barnes, Chris Haynes, Evan Stevens, Tyrone Ridley, Robert McMurray, Jack Weisner, David Stephens, Ben Jones, Andy Tywater, Bob Moran and Cecil Peach will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of College Grove Methodist Men’s Group, Miller Culberson, Jerry and Claudia Flippen, Shelly Frost, the Grove Breakfast Club, all of Jimmy’s many friends and card playing buddies. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to College Grove Methodist Church. Services in care of Lawrence Funeral Home, 203 S.
