Jimmy Dewayne Ferrell Sr. was born on November 10, 1948, and passed peacefully from this life on August 20, 2025.

Jimmy was a man who loved the outdoors and the simple joys of life. Whether he was casting a line from his bass boat or smoking meat to share with friends and family, he found happiness in being outside. He was also an avid sports enthusiast-he played in the Okie softball league and enjoyed watching sports, especially OU women's softball and OU football.

He had a long and successful career with Oklahoma City Tractor Company (OCT Equipment), where he began his career washing heavy equipment sometime later worked as salesman. Through hard work and dedication, he moved up to become Parts Manager and for a short time served as District Manager.

Jimmy was known for his incredible cooking. While many in the family could cook, he was the cook, famous for his spaghetti and chicken and dumplings. His meals brought people together and were always made with love.

Despite being born clubfooted, Jimmy overcame life's challenges through resilience, grit, and an indomitable spirit. He also enjoyed hunting small game like pheasant, quail, and squirrel.

Family was everything to Jimmy. He lived close to many of his relatives, with half the neighborhood block belonged to family, and he cherished every opportunity to gather together.

Jimmy had a deep love for animals, especially his beloved black labs, Jet and Chance; his special kitty, Felix; and his cats Marilyn and Cookie. His pets were family too, and they brought him comfort and companionship.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Elizabeth "Lisa" Grace Ferrell; his children: Jimmy Ferrell Jr. (Karrie), Eli Ferrell (Kathryn), Gabriel Ferrell, Edward Ferrell, and Amy Rebecca Manelski (John); and his grandchildren: Abigail, Daphne, Samuel, Lilyan, Timothy, Madeleine, and Nathan Ferrell, as well as Adam, Adrianna, and Isabella Manelski.

He is also survived by his siblings: brother Melvin Ferrell, and sisters Retha Brookshire and Nora Ferrell.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Ann; his parents, Bertha and George Ferrell; brothers Danny, Doyle, Mickie, and Kenneth Ferrell; sisters Wanda and Patricia Ferrell; and infant twin siblings and a infant brother.

Jimmy will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, cherished brother, loyal friend, and a man who brought people together with his big heart, generous spirit, and unforgettable meals. He will be deeply missed.
