Jimmy Dale Harbert, 83, of Channing, died on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas.
Jimmy was born on June 22, 1941 in Amarillo to James and Tennie Mae Harbert. He quit school at the age of thirteen to begin farming and ranching with his family for the rest of his life. He had worked for the DISD as a bus driver over twenty-five years. He enjoyed leather work and John Wayne memorabilia. He was a member of Middlewell Church.
He married Janise Cox on September 7, 1990 in Dumas.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joyce Herron.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Janise Harbert of Channing; a daughter, Mariah Tatum and husband Stephen of Amarillo; a son, Mathew Dale Harbert and wife Maachah of Channing; a sister-in-law, Brenda Lacour and husband Ronnie of Sunset, Tx.; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family would greatly appreciate any stories or memories written down and given to them at the service.
