Jimmy Major Marsh, passed away on January 15, 2025, at 1:55 A.M. surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Marsh was born June 30, 1939, in Blenheim SC, son of the late Major Richard Marsh and Virginia Bell Marsh. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa Ann Marsh and his sisters, Marilyn Grey and Lois Marsh.
Jimmy was survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sara Wall Marsh; his chidren, Teresa Stockdale (Shane), Vickie Marsh-Molina (Miguel), and Richard Marsh (Shelley); his grandchildren, Summer, Ashley, Destiny, Brandon, Hunter, Rylyn, Easton, Scarlett, Bryson, Farrah, Celeste, and Hudson; and his sisters, Barbara Miller and Lee Murray.
Mr. Marsh was in law enforcement for 25+ years, served in the Army National Guard, was a Girl Scout leader for many years, and a lifetime member of The Masonic Lodge of Murrells Inlet. Mr.Marsh was also a charter member of Socastee Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. He graduated from Socastee High School and resided in Socastee for the remainder of his life. Jimmy will be missed by so many.
Funeral Services, officiated by Rev. Micah Lane, will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 3:00PM at Socastee Baptist Church with visitation at the Church from 2:00PM to 3:00PM. Burial will follow at the cemetery at Live Oak Church (formerly Collins Creek Baptist Church) at 11331 SC-707, Murrells Inlet, SC, 29576, across from Blackmoor golf community.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Embrace Hospice House or Socastee Baptist Church.
