Funeral Services for Jimmy McDonald will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from Coye Assembly of God in Kemper County with Bro. Justin Bradley and Bro. Mitchell McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Coye Assembly of God.
Mr. Jimmy was born to Lester and Edna Earl McDonald in the Prince Chapel Community of Kemper County. He attended Lynville Schools and later attended EMCC for a short time. He was employed with Southern Electric as a collector for 30 years. He also owned a stump grinding business. Mr. Jimmy was a member of the US Army National Guard. He was a long time and active member of Coye Assembly of God Church. He loved Nascar, gardening, fishing and watching his grandchildren play sports. He dearly loved his family and will be missed. But most importantly he loved God.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Faye McDonald of Preston; sons, Lee McDonald (Dawn) of Preston, Stevie McDonald (Mandi) of Preston; grandchildren, Colby Sanderford (Kelsey), Sidney Clay (Zac), Tyler Sanderford (Ashley), Taylor Card (Jeremy), Dalton Sanderford, Haylee McDonald and Leah McDonald; 9 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and their families.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Edna Earl McDonald ; father in law and mother in law, Oscar and Louise Wyatt; nephew, Lee Long, Jr.
Pallbearers: Jeremy Card, Zac Clay, Matt Woodall, Tanner Boren, Stan Copeland, Dalton Sanderford and Dennis Patty.
Honorary Pallbearers: Lonnie Long and Scott Wright.
