Jimmy Ray Montgomery, 90, lifetime resident of Howard County, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025. Visitation hours will be from 10am-9pm, Tuesday, July 22 and from 8am-9pm, Wednesday, July 23, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10am, Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment with Naval honors will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Jimmy was born November 19, 1934 in Howard County, to parents Gordon Lee Montgomery and Estaleene Warren Montgomery. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 60 years, Marylon Montgomery; children Sheila Barber and Ray Rye (Leann); grandchildren: Michael Shockley (Haylie), Rodney Kinard, Shawn Rye (Amber), Richard Rye (Lita) and Sharon Rankin; great-grandchildren: Harper Shockley, Paryse Shockley, Zachary Kinard, Macey Kinard, Jovie Rye, Dax Rye, LaKen Rye, Sophia Rye, Hunter Rankin, Jayce Rankin and Lexi Rankin; siblings: Karen Hughes and Kent Rice along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; grandson Jimmy Lee Rye and great-grandson Tracen Rye.
