Willow Spring, NC: Mr. Jimmy Daniel “J.D.” Register, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 4, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be held 3:00PM-Monday, October 7, 2024 at Overflow Church in Angier. Pastors Brandon Teachey and Glenn McCullen will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.

Mr. Register was born on August 26, 1942 in Johnston County to the late John Daniel and Eula Davis Register. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Register; sisters, Cathrine Register, and Janie Reaves. Mr. Register was still busy doing home improvements with his business Register’s Home Improvements. He never met a stranger and was always smiling. Mr. Register loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted member of Overflow Church in Angier. Mr. Register especially loved attending his grandchildren’s ballgames, NASCAR and Fords. 

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Judy A. Register; children, Jimmy Daniel Register, Jr. and wife, Angie of Stuart, Florida, Sheila Register Godwin and husband, Jeromy of Benson; grandchildren, Lauren Register, Carson Register, Branson Register, Addison Register, Cole Godwin, Cade Godwin and Kinsley Godwin; sisters, Mavacine Tanner of Benson, Ann Allen of Benson, Linda Jernigan of Benson; brother, J. E. Register and wife, Linda of Surf City, and Jerry Register and wife, Louise of Benson; and several nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM-Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home. 

The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
