Jingping Jiang, a beloved father, educator, and mentor, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on December 1, 1935, in Ningbo, China, Jingping devoted his life to the pursuit of knowledge and the sharing of wisdom.
As a professor of engineering for over 50 years, Jingping inspired countless students to explore the beauty of engineering and innovation. He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering of Zhejiang University in 1958 and stayed at the school to teach. He has been working in the front line of teaching and scientific research for a long time. He has been rigorous in his studies throughout his life and has trained a large number of outstanding talents for the country. Professor Jiang was the director of the Research Department of Zhejiang University and the head of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Zhejiang University. He is the founder of power transmission and automation of the School of Electrical Engineering of Zhejiang University. He has won many teaching and scientific research achievement awards and made important contributions to China's science and technology education. His contributions are widely recognized in professional journals and conferences.
At home, he was a supportive husband, a devoted father and a proud grandfather. His love for books, teaching, and his family will remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the joy he found in helping others.
His warmth, intellect, and adventurous spirit will forever be missed.
