Jo-Anne Short Obituary
FAIR HAVEN:
Jo-Anne Short, age 87, passed away March 23, 2024; surrounded by family; at her home in Fair Haven.
Jo-Anne was born in Granville, NY, on June 5, 1936. She was the daughter of Harry and Gladys (Spencer) Vladyka. She grew up in Low Hampton where she received her early education and graduated from Whitehall (NY) High School, class of 1953. She earned her degree, in nursing, from Green Mountain College in Poultney, class of 1955 and later attended St. Paul University. She had worked for Rutland Area Visiting Nurses from 1977 until 1997. She earned her degree in Spiritual Training graduating in 1997. She had been the pastor of the United Church of Christ in Benson beginning in 1997.
Surviving is her two sons; William H. Short, NY and Robert M. Short both of Low Hampton, NY. 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren also survive her.
The graveside committal service and burial will take place, at a later date in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Fair Haven.
Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made, in her memory to; The Fair Haven Food Shelf or the American Cancer Society.
Her family would like to give special thanks to the Rutland VNA/Hospice nurses Fran, Angie, Alex, and Janet, also Sally Beayon, FNP and Dr. Allen Eisemann.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mallory Funeral Home in Fair Haven.
