Jo Ann Armstrong, 75, died Saturday, August 23, 2025 at The Oaks in Battle Creek. Jo was born December 31, 1949, in Niles, MI to Robert and Rita (Hemminger) Murphy. She graduated from Lakeview High School.

Jo was a member of the Battle Creek community for most of her life. She worked at K-Mart and Meijer for many years, building relationships with her customers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and had a huge heart for animals. She was a loyal supporter of the SPCA of Soutwest Michigan.

Jo is survived by her son, Paul (Sara) Armstrong, a sister, Mary Lum and a niece, Kimberly (Chris) Buchanon. She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew, Scott Lum.

As per Jo’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are planned. In memory of Jo, please consider supporting Death with Dignity legislation at the following link: https://deathwithdignity.org/states/michigan/. Jo believed deeply that everyone deserves the right to choose a peaceful end. Memorial contributions may also be made to the SPCA of Southwest Michigan in Kalamazoo or the Humane Society of South Central Michigan in Battle Creek.
