Funeral services for Jo Thrower Donald, 92, of Rayville, LA were held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 16, 2025 at the Oak Ridge Baptist Church, Oak Ridge, LA with Bro. Rayland Trisler and Bro. Jason Madden officiating. Interment was in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Monroe, LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.
Mrs. Jo was born November 3, 1932 in Delhi, LA and passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025 in Rayville, LA after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Jo was a member of the Oak Ridge Baptist Church where she was the pianist since 1990. She taught music at Riverfield Academy and Epps High School. Also taught private lessons at her home. She was a charter member of the Palmetto Garden Club of Rayville, loved cooking for her family and friends, and working in her garden.
Mrs. Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Ray Donald; parents, John and Emma Lou Thrower; brothers, Glynn Thrower, Noble Thrower, Cecil Thrower, J.C. Thrower, Lyndell Thrower, and Bob Thrower; and her sisters, Gladys Walker, Reedie Futch, Frances Collier, Betty Stimac; and uncle, Maurice Donald.
Survivors include her sons, Danny Donald and wife, Dianne of Rayville, LA and Phil Donald of Rayville, LA; grandchildren, Jason Donald and wife, Wendy of Rayville, LA, Jennifer Donald Streetman and husband, Justin of West Monroe, LA, and Joseph Donald of Monroe, LA; great grandchildren, Aniston Morris, Braylon Streetman, Carson Streetman all of West Monroe, LA, and Marlie Donald of Monroe, LA; and brother, J.W. Thrower and wife, Dot of Shreveport, LA.
Pallbearers were Jason Donald, Joseph Donald, Randy Donald, Reggie Collier, Tim Coats, Randy Odom and Justin Streetman.
Honorary pallbearers were the Men of the Oak Ridge Baptist Church and Maurice Donald, Jr.
