Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mr. Robert Louis Boughton, 78, of Mangham, LA, will be 3:00 PM Monday, December 18, 2023, at Mangham Baptist Church, with Rev. Tom Lowe officiating. Interment will follow at Gwin Cemetery.
Mr. Boughton was born on July 14, 1945, and went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 14, 2023. He was a retired educator from Richland Parish School System, Riverfield Academy, and the University of Louisiana Monroe. Mr. Boughton also served on the Richland Parish School Board. He was an active member of Christ Church where he served for over a decade on the Executive Board of Directors. He was President of the Gwin Cemetery Association. Mr. Boughton was also a retired farmer and rancher. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, cooking, but more importantly teaching his children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren how to hunt and fish. Mr. Boughton had a servant’s heart, always willing to serve others.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Sadie Vining Boughton; sister, Sue Ellen Smith; and brother, John Ben Boughton.
Survivors include his wife of 57 ½ years, Dianne Brunson Boughton; two children, Jeff Boughton and wife Jennifer, Christy Hendrix and husband James; three grandchildren, Katie Stewart and husband Logan, Christopher Boughton and wife Cassie, and Annabelle Hendrix; six great-grandchildren, Elijah Boughton, Levi Boughton, Livvy Boughton, Bennie Boughton, Jace Stewart, and Harper Stewart; brother-in-law, Don Smith and wife Kathy; two sisters-in-law, Bobbie Dell Bruce and Carol Ann Boughton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Ward Pierce, Bubba Bell, Beaux Lofton, Chris Pruitt, Layne Pierce, Blake Pierce, Randy Weed, and Todd Weed. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Joe White, Imp Hendrix, Doug Walsworth, Frank Hendrix, Donnie Rawls, Buddy Jones and Toby Joe White.
Memorials may be made to Gwin Cemetery or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Monday, December 18, 2023, at Mangham Baptist Church.
