Jo Ellan Grant Davis, age 71, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, passed away on August 13, 2025, at St. Thomas Rutherford. She was born in Moore County on June 6, 1954, to the late Richard and Katherine Cashion Grant. She was a native of Moore County. She grew up in the Marble Hill Community. She was a 1972 graduate of Moore County High School. She received her associate's degree from Motlow College, a Bachelor of Science Degree from MTSU, and a Master's Degree from MTSU in Curriculum and Instruction. She taught Elementary School for almost 40 years, where she taught second grade at Lynchburg Elementary School, and third and fourth grade at Cascade Elementary School in Bedford County, TN. She was a member of the Tennessee Education Association, The Bedford County Democratic Women's Club, Bedford County Farm Bureau Women's Club, where she also served as chairwoman. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville, TN. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mollie and Leander Grant, Sammie and Will Cashion; sister, Mary Gray Grant. She is survived by her loving husband, Glover Martin Davis of Shelbyville; two sons, Grant Davis of Pearland, Texas, and Joseph Davis of Jasper, TN; three stepchildren; sister, Kathy Hise; several nieces, nephews, and extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Gray Family Cemetery in Marble Hill. TN. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Jennings Moore- Cortner Funeral Home from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Jennings Moore-Cortner Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with interment to immediately follow in Lynchburg City Cemetery. www.jenningsmoorecortner.com 181 Majors Boulevard.
