Jo Ann Jones

Jo Ann Jones, age 80, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 9, 2025. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her father and mother, James Haynes Gentry and Mary Catherine Sullins Gentry, along with her beloved husband George Lee Jones, and her sister Mary Lee Gentry Hankins. JoAnn is survived by her brothers, James Haynes Gentry, Jr. and his wife Suzanne, and Tom Gentry and his wife Robbie; her children: Leeann Jones Jannett and her husband Keith Richard Jannett, George Luther Jones and his wife Kelley Ryder Jones, Timothy Elliott Jones and his wife Jennifer Langley Jones, and Catherine Jones; and grandchildren: Madison Rose Jannett, Kylee Grace Jannett, Noah Matthew Jannett, Emily Ann Jones, and Lainey Hazel Jones.
She was born on December 4, 1944, in Knoxville, Tennessee and was a graduate of Central High School in Knoxville. She went on to become a flight attendant for Delta Air Lines where she and her husband, George, met. JoAnn was a devoted wife and loving mother to her four children. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, supporting them in their various activities and school events. She was an active member of Cornerstone Bible Church, where her voice could often be heard in the church choir as she praised the Lord with every note. Jo Ann's commitment to her faith was evident in her involvement in numerous church missions and activities, where she served with a heart full of grace and love. She gave generously, from her heart, and was always ready to lend a hand to those in need. She loved to travel for both pleasure and to spread the word of God through missions.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Cornerstone Bible Church, 869 Cole Drive SW, Lilburn, GA 30047. The celebration of life will follow at 3:00 PM. Interment will take place immediately following the service at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, GA.
