Joan Beauchemin (1937 – 2024) With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Joan Beauchemin, who passed away at the age of 87. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, whose love, kindness, and faith touched the lives of so many.
Joan was born in Portage, PA on November 26, 1937, to Catherine and Raymond McGough. She was the 12th of 13 children and shared a close relationship with her brothers and sisters throughout her life. Growing up in a small town, Joan decided to expand her horizons and joined the AirForce. She was stationed in San Antonio where she met the love of her life, Harvey. Together, they shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage. She was a loving mother to Jim Beauchemin and his wife Diane, Bonnie Orlando and her husband John, and Kim Scoulios and her husband Nick. She was the proud grandmother to 6 grandchildren: Kendra and her husband Zach, Courtney and her husband Brent, Joey, Jennie, Patrick, and Megan, and her 5 great-grandsons: Mason, Garrett, Mathias, Crockett and Walker. Joan was known for her generous spirit, active participant in her churches, charities, and women's prayer groups. She was also known for her artistic talents, and skilled as a seamstress. Whether through her beautiful creations or the warmth of her presence, she brought joy to those around her. Her unwavering faith and devotion to prayer were a source of comfort and strength to all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Catherine McGough, her husband, Harvey, her son Jim Beauchemin; six brothers, Bernard, Joseph, William, Thomas, Daniel, and Richard; six sisters Mary, Teresa, Margaret, Rita, Kathleen, and Mary Lou and survived by her daughter in law Diane Beauchemin, Bonnie Orlando and her husband John, and Kim Scoulios and her husband Nick and her grandchildren: Kendra and her husband Zach, Courtney and her husband Brent, Joey, Jennie, Patrick, and Megan, and her 5 great-grandsons: Mason, Garrett, Mathias, Crockett and Walker and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on February 28, 2025, at 10:00 am at The Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor to Alzheimer's Association, Hope for the Warriors or Military Woman's Memorial. Though she is no longer with us, Joan's love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. "Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23
