Wrentham, MA – Rita E. (Genest) Beauchemin, 95, formerly of Pawtucket, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home, with family by her side on Sunday, May 25, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Wilfrid Beauchemin, who passed in 2023. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Elphege and Amanda (Houle) Genest.
Rita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, who enjoyed caring for her family. She loved sewing, crocheting, cooking, playing cards and various games with her family and friends, visiting the mountains of New Hampshire and working in her yard. Rita was a devout Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of St. Cecilia Church (St. John Paul II Parish) in Pawtucket. She was a saintly and patient lady who will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all whose lives she has touched over the past ninety-five years.
Rita leaves five children, Elaine Byrd and her husband, Ned, of Onalaska, Texas, Philippe Beauchemin and his wife, Cynthia of Bradley Beach, New Jersey, Jeanne Beauchemin of South Attleboro, Massachusetts, Doris Beauchemin-Moccia and her husband, Joseph, Jr., of Wrentham, Massachusetts, and Marc Beauchemin and his wife, Michelle, of Cumberland, Rhode Island; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Roland and Raymond Genest, Theresa Beland, Lucille Gaboriault, and Claire Bouvier.
The funeral will be held on Friday. May 30th at 11:30 a.m. at St. Cecilia Church of St. John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket, followed by interment at Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. VISITATION will be held prior to the Funeral Mass from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to St. Cecilia School Scholarship Fund, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket, RI 02861 would be appreciated. TrippFuneralHome.com
