Joan Blakeney

Joan passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017. Joan was a resident of Arkansas at the time of passing. She graduated from Teachers College in 1960 and began her career at Geary Elementary School where wonderful parents had already taught the children the most important lessons of life - honesty, fair play, and a great work ethic. It was nothing for one of them to get up in the night and ask the other, "Do you want to go to Bangor?" Visitation will begin Friday, September 8, 2017 beginning at 11:00 AM and continuing until 1:00 PM in the fellowship hall of Smythe Street Cathedral, 913 Smythe Street, Fredericton. A service celebrating the beautiful life of Joan Blakeney will be held at the same location at 2:00 PM with Pastor Verner Drost officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date.
