Joan M. Bohinski, 78, of the Honey Pot section of Nanticoke, passed away Wednesday evening, April 5, 2023, surrounded by loving family and close friends at Allied Services Hospice Center, Wilkes-Barre.
A lifelong resident of Nanticoke, Joan was born June 24, 1944, to the late Ambrose and Eleanor Pavilitz Kubricki. She married Vincent R. Bohinski on July 3, 1965.
Joan worked at King's Sportswear, Nanticoke, in her younger years, then she waitressed for many years at the American Legion Post 350, Nanticoke, and later was employed in the cafeteria at Bishop Hoban High School, Wilkes-Barre, until her retirement.
She was an active member of St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, Nanticoke, and the Holy Trinity Church her entire life. She helped make pierogi and worked the church bazaars for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 350, Nanticoke, and the Six County Firemen's Association. She was an avid league bowler with the "Classy Lassies" at Colonial Lanes, Nanticoke, and later at Stanton Lanes, Wilkes-Barre.
Joan loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and going on vacation. Her favorite destination was Walt Disney World.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent, with whom she shared nearly 58 years of marriage; son, Michael Bohinski (fiancée, Angela Kane), Nanticoke,; daughter, Doreen Lesh, South Abington Twp.; former son-in-law, Brent S. Parry, Clarks Summit; grandchildren, Bradley Parry, Brittany Parry, Gabrielle Bohinski, Mackenzie Jennings and Dylan Bohinski (fiancée, Rebecca Ottensman); brother, Charles Faldowski (wife, Debby); several nieces and nephews, cousins and close friends; and her beloved dogs, Trinket, Marshmallow, Ruby and Autumn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Girard Lesh; and sister, Sharon Ignasiak.
Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Faustina Kowalska Parish, 520 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke.
Viewing and visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to service time Tuesday.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joan's memory may be given to the family.

Sorry to hear of Mrs Bohinski`s passing...My mom (Rose Wentz) knew her and worked with her at the legion and i remember Doreen from Catholic school.......All the best to your family.
