Joan Jaeger Corr, a devoted mother and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the age of 88, surrounded by her daughters.
Born in White Plains, New York, and a longtime resident of West Chester, Pennsylvania, Joan was a pillar of love, support, and laughter in her family. She is survived by her daughters: Shelley Steel and her husband Jeff, Diane Byrne, and Susan Lenkaitis and her husband Mike; her stepson, Larry John Corr and his wife Kelly; and her nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Joan's loving husband, Larry Corr, predeceased her in June 2022.
Throughout most of her career, Joan worked for the YMCA, touching countless lives with her kindness, compassion and talents. Her passions included walking, reading, watching ice hockey and baseball, and spending time with her family and close friends. Cape Cod held a special place in her heart, where she spent many joyful summers during her childhood and while raising her family.
Known for her quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, Joan loved to laugh and bring joy to those around her.
A celebration of Joan's life will be held at St. Francis in the Fields, 689 Sugartown Road, Malvern, PA 19355, on Saturday, September 13, at 2:30 p.m., followed by a light supper at 905 Robin Drive, West Chester, PA 19382.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Chester County Hospital Foundation for In-patient Hospice Care, in memory of Joan Corr 8925.
The nightly ceremony in Washington, D.C. will be dedicated in honor of your loved one on the day of your choosing.
