Born and raised in Pawtucket, she was the first child of the late Frank J. and Louise Monica (Healey) Dombroski.
She was the beloved and devoted wife of Henry J. Coutu for 43 years.
Joan was an amazing mother to Lori A. (Coutu) Coletta and her husband, David, of Coventry, RI.
She was the loving sister of Judith A. Dombroski of East Providence and Frank J. Dombroski of Hudson, FL and adored aunt to Lisa Dombroski of East Providence and Lynn Dombroski of North Providence. She also leaves behind her beloved great nieces, Taylor Birchall and Emily Ramsey.
Joan is also survived by her step-children, Carolyn O'Toole and her husband Jack of Holliston, MA, Jeffrey S. Austin and his wife Noella of San Jose, CA, and the late Allen H. Coutu, and many step-grandchildren.
Hardworking and dedicated, she was employed by the former Woodlawn Laundry and Dry Cleaners of Pawtucket for over 30 years before retiring as a favorite lunch aide for the North Providence School Dept., meeting lifelong friends along the way.
Joan was an avid reader and animal lover with a gift of humor and grace whose smile and personality shone brightly wherever she was.
With a gentle soul and perpetual smile, she leaves a legacy of kindness, compassion and a life that gave all who knew and loved her memories too beautiful to forget.
"Cookie was awesome!" - Greg Murphy (Cousin)
