Joan C. Cwinski

Joan C. Cwinski, 84, formerly of Wheaton, IL passed away surrounded by her family on March 28, 2026.

She was born on December 13,1941 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Dennis and Hanna (Ryan) Fitzpatrick.

Joan was a devoted woman of faith and a former member of St. Daniel and St. Michael's Catholic Church in Wheaton where she was an active parishioner. She found great joy in cooking, gardening, and especially shopping. Above all, she cherished her family. She was a constant presence at her children's and grandchildren's sporting events, always cheering them on as their number one fan.

She worked for Wheaton School District as a secretary at both Lincoln Elementary and Edison Middle Schools. She also worked for many years at Wheaton Pediatrics as a receptionist. She truly loved both and found fulfillment in the people she met and the work she did. Joan will be deeply missed, and her absence will be felt by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children; Mark (Kelly) Cwinski, Paul (Kirsten) Cwinski and Beth (Jeremy) Doetch; grandchildren, Tressa, Danny, Riley, Madelyn, Marley Cwinski and William and Christopher Doetch. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; her parents, Dennis and Hanna (Ryan) Fitzpatrick; brothers, Jack, Bill, Jerry, and Tom Fitzpatrick and sister Mary Zablock.

Funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church, 101 W Loop Rd Wheaton, IL 60189. A reception will follow.
