It is with deep love and cherished remembrance that we announce the passing of Joan "Cindy" Driscoll, of Billerica, formerly of Watertown, on July 25, 2025. Born on December 29, 1944, Joan lived a life marked by compassion, devotion, and quiet strength.

Joan was the beloved daughter of the late Maurice and Helen (Whelan) Carroll, and the devoted wife of the late Joseph Driscoll for close to forty years. An only child, she reveled in being a part of the large Driscoll family. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold her memory in their hearts: her children Todd Driscoll and his wife Kathleen of Groton, Kimberly Driscoll of New York, and Matthew Driscoll and his wife Brynna of Colorado. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Allie Driscoll of Groton, and a treasured companion to Ron Tomlin of Billerica.

A proud graduate of St. Patrick's High School in Watertown and the Somerville School of Nursing, Joan dedicated her life to the care and comfort of others. She enjoyed a fulfilling and impactful 40-year career as a registered nurse, serving in hospitals, medical facilities, and schools throughout the Boston area. Known for her calming presence and unwavering empathy, Joan's work left an indelible mark on the lives of her patients and colleagues alike.

To know Joan was to know a caregiver in the truest sense of the word. Her selflessness, generosity, and nurturing spirit were evident in every role she held - as a nurse, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a friend.

In her retirement years, Joan embraced life with the same warmth and zest that she had always shared with others. She especially cherished her annual Caribbean cruises with dear friends, and most of all, spending precious time as "Nana" to her beloved granddaughter Allie.

In her final years, Joan received exceptional care and comfort from the teams at Brightview Concord River and Beacon Hospice, for which her family is deeply grateful.

In celebration of her life and in recognition of her enduring spirit of compassion, donations in Joan's memory may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.

Joan's life was a testament to kindness, care, and strength. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday July 29, 2025 at the Sweeney Memorial Funeral Home, 66 Concord Rd., Billerica from 4 – 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Theresa Church at 10 a.m. Burial in Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica

Our deepest condolences. We enjoyed bowling with Joan. She shared her famous blueberry cake recipe with us. She had a beautiful smile and a friendly personality. Such a nice woman. She will be missed.

Cindy and I shared many of our childhood years together at St Patrick´s School in Watertown. I remember her as a joyful person who always added a positive vibe to our daily activities. I am not at all surprised to read about the wonderful lady that she went on to become. I offer my prayers and condolences to her family at this very difficult time. Rest in Peace, Cindy.
